that make me imagine I could do as much labor again.; Today I put in some gladiola bulbs, some tomato plants (30) and a dozen cabbages. This evening I put in some pencil pod beans. Somehow, I got more of a thrill out of the last, than the others; the feel and “look” of the shiny black beans, and actually putting them in the warm earth, were most satisfying, and had a mystical flavor.; Most important “art-work” I have done is to get out the “Lilacs” No.2, and study it. The house seems very well worth preserving, but all the rest I scrubbed out as completely as I could. I cut two inchs (sic) off of the top, and right side each, and it now seems capable of becoming something._____; Last night Arthur & I to creek. We took along three lard-cans, to throw stones at, after we had one by one thrown them into the water. This offered us much hilarity and exercise.; Later B & I for a walk; it was cool and pleasant, but the mosquitos pestered us beyond all endurance.____; This afternoon, early B & I to Buffalo on various errands. (to Bank, to DCD to get Victrola, to Market, & to get seeds)
