light. However that seems more easily rendered than the oils, though it made me wonder what might be happening to others of my water colors.
The oil I was at a loss to remedy. I taped all the edges, and decided finally to return it as it is, (putting the star in it of course) and suggesting to Mr. Saxton he get the advice of an expert restorer. The water-color I mounted preparatory to touching it up tomorrow.
Reflecting on the impermanence of my art, I envied that of the composers, or writers, whose art never can deteriorate but is always good as long as the human race survives.

AM. Spent on tending up the water color, sealing the backs of the pictures etc. I was able to restore the picture to its former meaning.
PM. After some days of dread and hesitancy, I go to Dr. Corden for an examination, and find a partial return of the prostate infection. In a way, it is a relief to know, and I actually feel better mentally tonight than before when I was afraid that what is so, might be so.
Afterwards took the pictures to the Picture Frame Co. to be packed. I felt as tho I would like to stay & see to the packing of the oil myself, so worried am I as to its getting to Sexton safely.
