Evening- M. A. & Martha & Catherine to Episcopal Church in South Buffalo to play for a supper. The rest of us, attend the supper to hear them. We were proud of them - of their looks, and their playing and probably showed it.
Afterwards I take the “musicians” and Geraldine R. to a high school band concert at Eden.
(This is being written on Apr. 6, and it is only after writing the above that I recall the following!!)-
Sketching all day, on the Three Rod Road, a view looking through a newly made “cut-off”- it is windy & cold and cloudy - it threatens snow all day.
April 2, 1938- (Saturday)
With Arthur to the scene of yesterdays (sic) sketch to make a few notes. Afterwards, we explore a little on the hill to the East, and we came upon a summer home, very prettily laid out with little rock gardens, pools, “bridge-lets” (if I dare coin such a word!) etc. (The care-taker, hearing our voices, came up from his home in the valley to investigate, and told us it was the home of Graban, who is, I think a wealthy retired physician.) There were trails made all around, some leading into a ravine that extended north & south behind the house.
At times there were strong flurries of snow.
April 5, 1938 (Tuesday)
The last three days cold, the temperature remaining around 32° or below - there were scattered snow flurries all day Sunday, and Sunday night a heavy fall that covered everything.
