trip over the steep roads, and near the end of the trip a violent thunderstorm came up; the gathering darkness and the rain made the hills seem enormous and our ride hazardous.
At Williamson we found the R.R. station closed; after a light supper we went to a movie.
On the station agent’s advice we took an all night train toColumbus, where in the morning we went by train to Pittsburg, arriving there at2:30in the afternoon. No train forBuffalountil almostmidnight– we spent a dull time walking the streets and (our usual last resort) taking in movies –
Night ride to Buffalo uneventful.
