Mid-June -1921; Sketching trip with Keller, Wilcox, and Travis (afoot) to Wellsville, Yellow Creek, Steubenville, Hammondsville and Irondale.; (Incidentally Wilcox was the only one who really sketched, the rest of us regarded it as just a walk); Met K&W at the Inter-urban station and we took the car to West-Point (about one mile from the Travis Home); Arrival at Travis in the afternoon. Lolling at our ease all afternoon and evening –; Next day Keller and Travis discussing etching and painting, while W & I took a walk in a nearby ravine –; Then all of us start out on our trip heading first for “Round Knob” (the highest hill in this area) [It was from this hill that in 1917 I painted Travis’ Hill given to Walter Keller in exchange for a decorative watch fob he made of silver.] Our conversation rambled on about various
