[inscription reads] " forget the long stretches of water, with the wooded hills to the west lost in the mist and sky. / Down Hill Road towards Covered Bridge - Road flooded at Rosemeadow between East-Channel & the Bridge - water curls oilily (sic) around trees & bushes. / Upwards again - a heavy fog comes down. I can scares (sic) see any distance. / I seem to see sketches of rarest beauty when impossible to take them down. I got a ride to Greene Rd & again from Greene Rd Bridge to Albany. On both I saw "
