[inscription reads] " Jan. 3, 1915 / A sun-sparkled morning. Heavy blue mist, a shower of fluffy star-flakes falling slowly as if with difficulty straight down thru (sic) the air, seeming as if the fog was thus condensing. At sun’s coming they cease but still dazzle the air by sparkling from the snow’s surface. / At noon the wonder is the sunlight does not destroy the film - stars on the snow’s surface. It is too remote and comes thru (sic) "
