[inscription reads] was greatly pleased at any liking shown me by my acquaintances so that now I am seeking the friendship of people. Tonight I took as much pleasure in the manner in which the people in the kitchen at the Villa - Nick the colored cook; the dishwasher; Eisner; and Rose the waitress, received me as I do in some spark¬ling phenomenon of nature.
