[inscription reads] just melted in the sun. Wind from south and soft-edged. A milky blue haze in the remotely sunlit air. Poplars are turning yellow and commencing to thin. They still twinkle. The Japanese ginkos are likewise commencing to turn & fall. Willows yet green. Dandelions blooming yet and at noon I saw a sluggish bee on one. At even a pleasant sight was a host of sun blowed mosquitos up-and-downing riotously low in the air. / My first vote today.
