[inscription reads] " Dappled night. / Moon looms in the dappled night. / Sept 9, 1914 / A cold blue air morning. Air snaps like crackle of lightning. / Morning sunshine is late. It seems as tho (sic) the season advanced wonderfully in one cloudy day - we notice all at once how late the sun is in appearing. The dewspurred shadows are longer now.
