[inscription reads] " Go out about 10:00 Moon shining in a clear sky. Coppery green glow. Moon-shafts falling thru (sic) the scummy mist, that flattened the trees, sent a ripple of rain - sparkles over the bristling grass. / Sept 7, 1914. / 5:00 Am. Along ridge above Egypt Road with F - in search of mushrooms. / A rose-glow in east at start. / In early morning I always think of Browing perhaps because of his vivid dawn-pictures. In Post’s hear “Weerie-bird” "
