bout five o’clock. Snowy bubbly rain. Peculiar crackling sound. A fine foamy mist coming up from the jumping pavement. Evening one of thunder-showers constant rumbling of thunder. Never saw such intensely bright blinding lightning. Thunder sonorous & booming. A rollicking thumping of the air. The sunset glowed a dim brickish the rain fog. Later shows strong in the northwest - a dull red orange, an effect as all earth is dark as at night. The intensely blinding lightning lighting up
