ripening - the color begins at the centers and seems like blood oozing forth. A bunch just commenced glows like a dying ash. One bunch is quite ripe & has fallen over and a red glow among the leaves. Not yet scattering.(HT)As I draw sunflowers a wren drops down on arbor not further than arms reach from me & then flies away. We were both mutually surprised.(HT)Odd crane-fly. Was puzzled at first. As it flew along I could see no wings. Alights on grape leaf and commences worked its body up & down
