a black & yellow winged grasshopper had alighted on my back. As I moved it flew away. It was not long till I heard it again. This time it lit on my sleeve & I waited awhile to see what it would do. It fell at once to gnawing my shirt! I could hear its “molors” clicking. I waited awhile then frightened him away. I could not see that he had accomplished anything. From time to time he came to my hat, but I each time I could not see that he did anything, except for a slight rough spot where he had been gnawing.(HT)These chestnuts form picturesque arches for me to look
