& boneset in greatest quantities - filmy combinations of orange & pale whitish green.(HT)(HT)Around the edge is that graceful vine, hog-peanut, now in full bloom, swamp smartweed (just blooming) swamp ferns (whose “flowers” are yet green & obscure later to become a conspicuous rusty brown,) goldenrod, hawkweed, hardy phlox, turtlehead selfheal, great blue lobelia (the first I have noticed around here). It is not so large or so noticeable as its cousin Cardinal Flower) & arrowhead. By far the most conspicuous is the boneset.
