was gold - and as it floated past distant trees, I was sure it was red violet. As it fled over the ground before the fast brightening sun, it brought with it the calls of a bob-white + a mourning dove.(HT)As I was sitting down at a hedgerow, I heard a note in the above me, which was unmistakeably that of a bobolink which marks their song. Looking up I saw four or five flying high over. As they passed directly above me, one uttered a song, an incomplete weak rendition of their powerful rollicking May song.It takes a level sun-ray
