finger. Suddenly the sparrow took flight which sudden movement caused the mite to fly up, but back again. I came downstairs & go out to view her closer. She appears not to notice me. Presently begins to clean herself and it seems odd - we hardly think it necessary for such a dainty mite to clean itself. Once when her bill was in the depths of her breast under her wing, both wings & tail were spread, the tail being largely end evenly scalloped. Her every move had a charm born of her smallness.
