[inscription reads] " with the sun’s rays. Entering Post’s woods I lost sight of the storm for a while. Here it was dark & cool & quiet – the only evidence of storm were thunder rumbles. / Round the corner to Crouching Beech I came and paused, awestricken with the beauty of the approaching storm. / The sun is glowing thru (sic) the rain – mist!! What a glorious combination of two of nature’s most wonderful event’s – the union of a roar and a whisper, of a trumpet call and a violin, of Mars and Pax, of a strong passionate heedless "
