[inscription reads] " this charming wood in a state of cultivation. / The woods does two things here: viz. it dips down a steep hill, and becomes more wild and secluded. We feel we are in a different woods. The underbrush has been unhampered; the trees are thicker / See patch of whitish stuff from afar.
