[inscription reads] " resolution was made – I would seek this spot and there strive to learn what was in the wind. / Woods marked here by stumps in all stages of preservation, brush heaps and logs, around which congregated poke, blackberry, & foam flowers as if to heal the scar. / The pastures firm hard surface seems to have been make so by the beating wind. / Come to where the woods is divided by a rail-fence. / One corner has been plowed & potatoes planted. I suspect I will come back to this spot some day and see all "
