[inscription reads] " manner, the accomplishment of which caused its body to expand at the last joint displaying a transparent milky skin – the whole being circular in shape, the “circumference being this middle strand, which I think was really the ovipositor. The black strand lay in the hollow of the underside of its abdomen, & united with the other two strands. This black one, was attached to the tip of its body while the other two fromed (sic) a loop above it. The “circle” then disappeared in some manner and the body began working down towards the trunk of the tree, the end of the abdomen writhing & expanding "
