[inscription reads] " Sow thistle here covered with cotton. Not yet blowing. I examined them & found they were all barren. Hedges separates this from Cornfield. Elm, pin oak, wild cherry, maple, apple, elder, Tame cherry. / The wind is growing stronger with each moment and brings with it more mist to obscure the sky and a blue haze.
