[inscription reads] " we think his head must float away. A monarch blown by the wind. Beard grass patch seems to be illumined of itself and even on dull days lights up the whole field as snow does at night. Has the feel of spiderwebs. Blown by wind. / Lacewings with their golden beaded heads, are numerous. / Queen Anne’s Lace just opening at Highland Ave. A clover field here. Spotty field. Pink of clover supplemented by brown of dead blossoms & yellow of aging leaves. "
