[inscription reads] " which being distant have the appearance of being remote untried territory & have a charm for that reason. / Cultivated lands continue on either side to Northwoods Road on southside of this copse has been closed & is but a dim outline. This woods mostly beeches & comes right up to the road – no fence. / Here I see early Goldenrod in Bloom. Katydids in hayfield. / Beyond here cultivated land. Then Grove at two-mile cross-road west of Covered Bridge. The Dutchman’s Hill plainly visible as this hill gradually "
