Arrive at “Camp” The bird chorus is in full swing. Thrasher red-winged blackbird, house-wren, meadowlark songeparrow. Swallow silver flight. Hear sparrow-hawks call and also “Tseerie”(HT)(HT)Pondlilies in bloom.(HT)Day merges into night in a calm harmonious manner. Does not get dark until nine o’clock. By that time noon is up. Fireflies abound and are beautiful as they flash in the moonlight. Whippoorwills and tree-frogs. The ponds are flush with water and prevent successful frog-hunting.
