I have come home early from school. Why? The answer can be had in the fact that I am writing these pages. It was a weariness that I had slowly acquired of all things pertaining to the city which started at the first sign of spring and grew so rapidly that at times I thought I couldn’t bear it. I longed to get away from every thing and spend a few quiet days with only Nature, as a companion. Such a mental condition soon told on my physical body and I became tired + listless. A couple trips I made to Bedford Glens and came back at night after a day of hill-climbing and rock-stepping feeling fit to conquer the world. And so I decided to cut loose from everything and come home two weeks before I was supposed to go to work. And so I did arriving home a few days ago.
The first thing I can remember was hearing a meadow-lark sing while a crowd of us were out on a little trip to the woods, Sunday evening. It is the last note of that early fairy
