correspondence we decided on the Chicago Institute. Then one thing and another came up and I decided I could not afford to go unless I borrowed quite a lot of money - so I broke off my plans with Kaiser and made arrangements to go to the Cleveland School.
When I got out to Kaiser’s again I rather regretted I had not taken the plunge, gone ahead and borrowed the money, so I could keep my bargain with Charlie - Joe would have been willing to go along with such a venture.
Mrs. Kaiser hated to have Charlie go alone, and Charlie himself hated to go for I believe he likes me as well as I do him, and besides that, he is very serious about Florence Parker.
His mother said in an aside to us that “Charlie is a wonderful character”
