small flocks of blackbirds whirling around in the sky. Already they have commenced to gather for the long south-ward journey. A lone robin perched on the shed, was which disturbed at their presence in the air,and ran back on the roof piping angrily.
Aug. 10, 1913
“Well now, you prunes want to get a move on you”, said Jim, as Fred and I trailed in from work.
“Aw gwan”, I replied toughly, “who’s running this thing anyway?”
“I am” was Jim’s answer, “and you don’t wanta get smart either. Say you mut do you think you go to cast for bass in that little creek up there?”
I did not understand at first, but began to see light when Jim picked up a fishing pole I had borrowed from Jim Groner in the morning.
