make for McKinley Ave. I presently found an old coal-mine road which brought me to the desired road. That was a silent walk in town along that dark road. All fear was gone and I am glad. I wonder tho had I been proceeding away from town, if the feeling would hay been the same?

I have little to write today. This was a mercilessly hot day. Glary sun pelted forth from a wonderfully blue clear sky. Everything is burning up. This morning was made beautiful by the sight of some blue morning-glories. There were six open on the vines and their color rivaled the sky.
As I was coming home from work I heard an oriole I song. It was only a half-uttered incomplete thing and sounded odd on this hot August day. After supper as I was looking out of. the window, I saw several
