Is it two o’clock yet” I asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe we’re early.”
We went all the way down Ellsworth without meeting him and then started up Main street, scanning street and shops on both sides. But no King did we see. After going as far as Trotter’s Grocery we turned around and went back again, turning up Broadway this time. Our quest proved fruitless.
“He must have gone home” I said.
“Well let’s go out” Bill replied.
So we started. Just as I got at the Ellsworth Laundry, two thoughts or rather three came to me; first that I had some collars in there; second that I didn’t want to go out to King’s again and third that I could use the first to accomplish the second. So I said:[1]
