     Well we finally got down town.  Going up Main St we heard them: the alliance rooters and a moment later we met them a noisy, happy crowd, hilariously shouting their war cries, confident of victory, for they had already beaten us once.  They certainly had a patriotic bunch of numbers and noise denote patriotism, and it does sometimes.  After they had gone we loitered around awhile before going to the field.  Presently both teams started up toward the school-building, where the dressing rooms were.
