     The strange-ness of railroad yards = north from Youngstown – A straight line snow – pale woods dense swamps – scrawny stumps + elm trees – the old Thanksgiving mood commences – fence posts + dead weeds have a strange look –

     At Jefferson by early Dusk – The (scribbled out) church with sharp silver for a steeple – broad street lined wth elms – more quaint churches – a feeling of New England + remoteness (the church in the Dell) – on answering a mans salutation my own voice seems strange + out of place –

     At Sherwoods (sic) – the wonderful old fashioned interior – the cold white light from a lamp above on the teakettle – ticktock (sic) of clock -
