John Pfahl (1939-2020)

For his series, Extreme Horticulture, John Pfahl photographed Sunflowers, Bowmansville, NY in September 1999. The golden sun disks stretch as far as the eye can see. His Sunflowers video from 2008 is a more intimate, Zen-like experience, with wind chimes tinkling in the background while one contemplates a small bouquet of sunflowers on a windowsill.--NW
