Sue Katz noted: “The blocks can be stacked according to location. No installation will be exactly alike.” As the name implies, Building Blocks has a childlike quality that entices people to try to touch and rearrange the installation. It is the antithesis of Katz’s monochromatic aesthetic employed in her white ceramic sculpture.
