In a Birge design book, what looks like this pattern appears in "Interior No. 261, Top and Panel klBorder with Corners, No. 070; Linen to match, 50 inches wide." The photograph credit: "Copyright, 1914, by M. H. Birge & Sons Co." Therefore, since Burchfield did not start working at Birge until 1921, this could not be his design.
