Buffalo, NY — The Burchfield Penney Art Center is delighted to announce outstanding artist, curator, and educator Davana Robedee as the juror for The Sylvia L. Rosen Craft Art Biennial 2025, presented by the Sylvia L. Rosen Endowment for Fine Art in Craft Media. The biennial exhibition, now in its 18th iteration, will be on view at the Burchfield Penney from November 14, 2025 through March 29, 2026, and will feature exemplary work in craft media by Western New York artists.
Davana Robedee brings a rich background in fiber art, community engagement, and curatorial practice to the jury process. Robedee is the Director of the Tyler Art Gallery at SUNY Oswego and the former director of Quilting by the Lake, one of the nation’s oldest art quilt conferences. She was recently selected for the American Craft Emerging Artist Cohort 2024 and is a NYSCA 2025 Artist Awardee. Robedee holds an M.F.A. from Syracuse University and a B.A. from Southeastern Louisiana University.
The call for entries for the Sylvia L. Rosen Craft Art Biennial 2025 is currently open. Artists working in glass, fiber, wood, clay, metal, or other craft forms are invited to apply by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025. To be eligible, artists must be current or past residents of Western New York. Submissions are accepted through ArtCall at sylviarosenbiennial.artcall.org, with no entry fee.
