A clear sunny day, not a cloud in the sky all day – Cool in the morning, but quite warm later on.

Both us felt restless so I suggested we go down into the country – we thought at first of getting our lunch at Cattaraugus, but we didn’t get started until after 12:00 – so we stopped at the Bowling Alley lunchroom west of Springville – which was after all, a place with better surroundings than Cattaraugus
A wonderfully happy day – It would be futile to try to describe the beauties we saw – September fields and woods at their greatest beauty –
