Late breakfast –
To the gallery – the summer show – a superb still life (acorn squash) by McFee. My own “Winter Rain from the East” pleases me. Letter from home, with snapshots which made me long more than ever to get back.
P.M. Clancy, Frank & I to Ebbets field in Brooklyn to see a ball-game. The St. Louis Cardinals & the Dodgers. I thoroughly enjoyed it – the whole spectacle of people streaming into this place before hand, as well as the fields itself, and the tiers & tiers of people –
The umpire added life to the game by calling “strike” in such a manner that he made three syllables out of it –
Evening – at the apartment. Frank has a bad habit of having to listen to all of the news broadcasts –
