The first “Spring Day” – Midmorning - the houses & buildings have a rich warm look, and face the south with an expectant look – the roadway is soon full of slush –
Noon – the brilliant red trees against the brilliant blue sky of the Sap-day North – the sparkling highlights from the sun on automobiles – the rich dense blue shadows on the North face of buildings – children playing even the commonplace restaurant where I ate seemed to have an excitement of spring in it – three girls gossiping about trivial things – The water runs in the gutters like silver fire – It is Vorfrühling!
