Take Pal out to end of lot. A beautiful mysterious night—the moon full, hazy, with a weather ring, high overhead. All at once a harsh scream above a huge bird, probably an owl, circling low, evidently disturbed by & furious at our presence—what a load of venom & rage he put into that scream. Which he uttered a couple times more, before finally flying off to the east.
A freezing rain—by the afternoon the effects beautiful.
