Evening B & I for drive in country—found a woods on a side road leading east from Route 62 (just south of the junction of 62 & B.W. Blvd.) A dense musky woods, cut in half by a single line railroad—Full of trilliums, dog-tooth “violets” or trout lily, and some wild ginger & large flowered bell-wort. There must have been at least six wood-thrushes all singing at once—the tame voice of the deep moist woods in May. The sun on the horizon shining thru the trees like a bon-fire.
