(it rained all night) A rained-drenched earth – the air heavy – I woke at 6:50 – wheezing some, head stopped up, then coughing – went downstairs, and then by 7:30 was ready to go back to bed – A day of little jobs – Demounted “Song to Morning” and “Cicada Woods” for remounting – Mixed earth & peat moss and shredded bark to fill in the bed along the west side of the studio – From Toronto a collection of Sibelius tone poems. End of Day music – Mendelssohn’s Scotch Symphony (which I announced to Bertha as his “Canadian Club Symphony,” at which she dutifully laughed)
