About 2 or 3 inches of snow fell—fine & powdery. A beautiful winter world, the sun shining powerfully from a misty sky. The air still & mild. Letter from Moe—the jury meeting is set for Mar. 11 & 12.
M & I to Loblaw’s.
After lunch—call from Andrew Ritchie—Mrs. Carlton-Smith wants to buy a picture of mine and R. would like to hang her art Wed. A.M., the 18th. Very agreeable to me, of course! He said she wanted to get an “important” example.
B to Buffalo to do a little shopping—
Odd jobs in studio—preliminary mounting on 2 large panels (36x54 & 37x54)
Evening—B & I rummy then B to bed. I read a mystery novel. Soon Art with his friends Geo. M & Eddie P. came in to play jazz records. I wanted to go to bed, but thought if I did, it would seem as if I were “put out” by their music. So I sat & read, getting colder & more cramped by the minute, as a matter of fact, I was not “put out” by the music, but rather enjoyed it, and especially their youthful enthusiasm.
