Dec. 21 – Monday –
Mailed picture to Louise – ordered chickens & bought a ham for Christmas. Mild & threatening rain –
Noon to Thru-Way Plaza for more ornaments. Found a lot of pretty ones & finished trimming the tree.
Late P.M. B & I to Buffalo shopping – Tee & Harp for Art – gloves for me - & records at D.C. & D – (Sibelius Fifth Symphony) & Tchaikovsky’s Nut-Cracker Suite. Sandwich & coffee at “Freddie’s Doughnuteria”
Home & played the records – the fifth symphony well-played but with annoyingly noisy surfaces – the Karelia Suite not so bad & beautifully played – the Nutcracker (played by Toscanni & wonderfully done – with it the Skater’s Waltz (the composer’s name – Waldteufel, more intriguing than his music) & the William Tell Overture.
