A heavy fog in the night condenses on the trees in thick white frost –
Houses pale ghosts in the haze –
The S.E. sky is a pale papery yellow – against it the trees are silvery gray feathery shapes (darker than sky -) against houses trees are beautiful white pattern a startled cardinal jars frost from a branch –
The sun comes slowly – it is not till midmorning that it is noticeable – trees against north sky (neut yel) a chaste white, lighted at their peaks.
