A.M. all of us to church –
P.M. writing letters to Saint-Gaudens – Daniel Catten Rich, Louise, and Carl Schaefer.
At twilight – [Arthur] & I for walk to Union Rd. Bridge over Penna. R.R. –
Long dark bars of clouds over the clean watery south west sky – the roadhouse sending up puffs of white smoke, interspersed with the brilliant stars of electric lights. [Arthur] said he liked the road house lit up, it reminded him of the N.Y. World’s Fair.
We stayed on the bridge watching the engines shifting back & forth until we got too cold to stand still any longer.
