Pale far away grey morning – Earth & Sky one – The sky is blueish grey at bottom but lighter warmer grey above –
At noon the tremendous snow gloom hangs over the earth – black trees bases look startled at the snowy ground (the sky being dark, the snow is a source of light). Houses appear, as if they thought “What is the terrific thing that is about to happen?” – Foundry Hill specters The House of the Old Lady has white fishy eyes –
The Zenith looms like a great oval light –
