A cool sparkling morning –
I went to the studio and tried to work — but the sunlight and cloudless sky outside kept nagging at me – and I suggested to Bertha (who was doing the washing) we go to Niagara Falls for lunch, to which she joyfully assented –
I did however, first examine my projected changes in the “October Sunburst” made Saturday and came to a conclusion: it will be enlarged from 45x54 to 50 x 60.
Left for the Falls after 12:00 –
By this time, clouds were gathering, both high “mackerel” clouds and cumuli — with very dramatic lighting of both clouds and the earth –
Lunch at Sheraton-Brock – then for a drive down river to the oak woods near Niagara-on-the-Lake. Parked here, and gathered some waxy tan oak leaves –
Then homeward bound — Extremely tired so that I scarcely enjoyed the drive.
When we got home I found the following note on my desk.
