A good way to commemorate Veterans Day is coming to Burchfield Penney 2nd Friday to see the World War I artifacts that were Charles Cary Rumsey's. In 1917 he entered the United States Army in the Calvary Division. His polo skills helped our country! Captain Rumsey was in the Division Headquarters Troop of 77th Division and the 40th Engineers.
Burchfield Penney has his Brooks Brothers coat to see and a breathtakingly handsome photo of him in the coat. There is a display of other items from his time in France in 1917.
MaryBeth Parrinello is a volunteer at the Burchfield Penney, an educator, and lover of all things Chautauqua and Charles Cary Rumsey.
