            Still rain & cold –

            In studio, [studied] various pictures especially the Sun Burst, which needs enlarging and redesigning – also studied the 1940 “December Sun”

            The brilliant yellow maple sapling in front of the Poplars –

            Playing new records received the other day the last few nights – the new version of Beethoven’s Fifth, cond. by Bernstein – a beautiful performance with excellent sound – “Wonderland of Opus,” cond. by Kostelanetz – of which the “I heard as in a Dream from Bizet’s Pearl Fishers, is my favorite —haunting music— “Love in Bath” Suite arranged by Beecham –
